EPiC – Anti-Corrosive Primer

Zinc Phospohate rich anti-corrosive coating

Nutech EPiC Anti-Corrosive Primer is a fast drying single pack Co-polymer Alkyd. It can be applied to most metal surfaces. It is a highly pigmented, zinc phosphate containing anti-corrosive coating.

Suitable Substrates

  • Mild Steel
  • Aluminium
  • Blasted Steel
  • Galvanised Iron
  • Stainless Steel
  • Zincalume
  • These surfaces should be abraded then initially primed with EPiC Epoxy Etch Primer.

Application

Brush, Roller & Spray – For spray application use pressure pot or cup gun.

Equipment Type

Good quality brush and a good solvent resistant roller sleeve. Spray application will depend on the type of finish required.

NOTE:

For spraying pressures and tip sizes, applicators should source this relevant information from their spray gun suppliers.

Preparation

All surfaces must be free from Rust, Oil, Grease and all other surface contamination.

Thinning

0% - 5% Nutech EPiC Epoxy Solvent

Spray

10% - 15% Nutech EPiC Epoxy Solvent

Number of Coats

Brush, Roller

1 Even full coat

Spray

2 Coats or a minimum of 50 microns dry film thickness.

Dry and Re-Coat Times

Touch Dry

25 mins @ 25° C

Re-Coat

Within 4 hours or After 16 hours @ 25° C.

Hard Cure

7 days

Clean Up

EPiC Epoxy Solvent or Gun wash.

Coverage

14 m2 per litre per coat

Other Information

Surface Temperatures

Above 10°C and below 30°C

Safety Precautions

  • Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and a recommended respirator for spray application.
  • Make sure there is good air flow and ventilation before applying this coating.
